Evil Election Eve Blog Carnival
By AndrewBoyd • Nov 23rd, 2007 • Category: Aussie BloggerLaurel Papworth just raised the question on Twitter - with the media blackout now in place for tomorrow’s Australian Federal election, is there a blackout on non-media blogs as well?
I don’t know - truth be told, I’d be surprised if there was.
Reframing this like crazy, I’d like to propose an Evil Election Eve blog carnival!
Possible topics include:
- Most pressing election issue (and who you think will deliver on it)
- Funniest election advertisement
- Funniest election gaffe
- Most embarrassing campaign angle
- Why you’re over all this cr*p already
Can you think of anything else?
If you do, post and leave a comment here and someone will do a roundup!
UPDATE: Please register posts at http://blogcarnival.com/bc/submit_2958.html. Thanks
UPDATE 2: The carnival is now closed - it’s election day! Thank you to all who entered - the entries are with Laurel and will be posted sometime soon.

*sniggers* I picked the three social media events that made me giggle during the election.I think I put more thought into what I chose than into who I gonna vote for.
Muahahaha!

Thanks Laurel, it is good to have someone to share a bit of disdain and sniggering with at the end of a long and painful election media blitz
Best regards, Andrew
Sounds interesting. I’m hoping I can take part, amidst our crazy renovations!
I’m done
Hi Ruth,
thank you for that - renovations can certainly get in the way. If you need net access let me know and I’ll find someone on the right side of town for you
Cheers, Andrew
Hi Donna,
thank you
It looks good. Don’t panic!
Best regards, Andrew
[…] there is an Election Blackout in force. From Andrew: Laurel Papworth just raised the question on Twitter - with the media blackout now in place for […]
There’s an election on? What election?!!!
And here I was thinking all those ads are just more government “community service” announcements.
OMG should I have paid attention to them? What have I missed? A grand and engaging vision for the future of the nation (that does not involve diggin stuff out of the ground)? Real debate over real issues that matter (SUV-only fast lanes? Subsidised petrol for V8 and larger engined cars? Suicide booths for dole cheats and single mothers? A kindness tax to keep the bleeding-hearts at bay? User-pay community services?)
[…] I am participating in this. […]
Hi Zern,
I would have to say that you have not missed much - from either side. Your choice is basically between John Howard 1.0 and the 2.0 model - or as South Park so eloquently put it, you have to choose between a giant douche and a turd sandwich. I’m not very inspired, myself
Best regards, Andrew
oh I have been reading two so far and they are hilarious - it is too late for me to particpate - Riayn’s was great. and All Consuming too.
I am still a swinging voter ! help me decide guys.
Hi Trish,
it is not too late - you have till 8AM tomorrow
it might be too late at night, granted - all sensible people are now asleep, and if I were sensible I would be joining them
Best regards, Andrew
