Blogger Profile: Matt Langdon and The Hero Workshop
By AndrewBoyd • Nov 12th, 2007 • Category: Aussie BloggerMatt Langdon writes The Hero Workshop.

Matt is an Aussie living in the USA - no-one seemed to mind if he joined The Aussies as long as he ate Vegemite
(well, that was the general consensus of opinion, there were those that felt that vegemite tastes like cr*p, everyone is entitled to their say!).
Matt writes about the place of the Hero in our culture and in myth. This is how he describes his blog:
The Hero Workshop concentrates on the hero inside everyone. By studying the hero’s journey and the character traits of heroes, people can embrace their role as the hero of their own lives. Life takes on new meaning and people become empowered to make choices that are heroic.
The Hero Workshop exists because I want it to. I want people to learn about heroes and to talk about them. I want people to think of themselves as heroes and act accordingly. I started my own company so I could focus as much effort as I wanted to on this project and I think it shows.
So welcome to the site. Have a look around and please feel free to let me know what you think.

I think that blogging because you want to and because you have something important to say is the best possible reason in all the world.
Matt discusses various heroes - indeed, his NaBloPoMo blog series for this month is just that - a different hero every day. So far he has discussed some very inspiring people - Gorby, Billy Bragg, and Nelson Mandela among them.
He also draws inspiration from Joseph Campbell (which is a very good thing in my book).

Hey, thanks for the write up. I am a proud Vegemite eater, though I am nearly finished with my last jar. I’ll have to work out a way to rectify that.
Hi Matt,
you’re welcome. Funny thing, I just searched Amazon for Vegemite - the number one result was Marmite (no surprise there as it is a logical alternative I guess) but the number 2 result was this book - that is just scary!
Anyhow, good luck with the blog, I like the concept a lot.
Best regards, Andrew
