Dead Man’s Golf

Richmond is a town in Queensland with an unusual water feature. Lake Fred Tritton is an artificial lake with a pile of rocks in the middle - named Dead Man’s Island.

According to an interview on the Sunrise program weather this morning, Dead Man’s Island is called that because, well, the pile of rocks is over a grave. They have an annual triathlon in Richmond that includes a swim out to Dead Man’s Island.

They also have a golf course. This photo shows the tee. Yep, the hole is on Dead Man’s Island.

Where else in the world is a cemetery part of the golf course? :)

Each to his own, I guess.
